At North Shore Laser Center in Salem, Massachusetts, laser hair removal costs from $125 a visit for a small area, from $500 for a medium area and from $750 for a large area (2026 prices). You pay one visit at a time: no packages, no deposits, nothing prepaid.

Most people need six to eight visits, so the number that matters is the cost of a whole series, and that is what this page works out. Every figure here comes from our what things cost page, which is where current prices live.

What does each area cost?

Hair removal is the one thing we can put a number on ahead of time, because the areas are consistent. These are starting points: where you land depends on the size of the area and how much hair is actually there.

AreaWhat it coversPer visitSix to eight visits
SmallUpper lip, chin, underarms, hands, or the single stubborn patch you've been tweezing for yearsfrom $125from $750 to $1,000
MediumBikini, lower legs, forearms, full face, shoulders, chestfrom $500from $3,000 to $4,000
LargeFull legs, full back, and combinations that cover a lot of ground at oncefrom $750from $4,500 to $6,000

The right-hand column is simple arithmetic: the starting price times six, and times eight. Some people need fewer visits, and then they pay for fewer. Nobody pays for a visit they did not have.

How many visits will I need?

Most people need six to eight visits, spaced four to six weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only catches the follicles that are active on the day, so each visit treats the next group coming in. Some people need fewer, and you hear our honest estimate in the first conversation.

The spacing is not us pacing your wallet. It is how long the hair and the skin need between visits, and coming in sooner does not speed anything up. A series started in the fall is usually well along by the time summer comes back; when to start laser hair removal has the month-by-month arithmetic.

Why don't you sell packages?

Because a package assumes we already know how many visits you will need, and often we don't. You may be finished well before a package would have run out, and then you have bought visits you will never use. So we don't sell them: you come until you're done, and then you're done.

There is a second reason. Too many people have walked in here having already lost money to a laser company that took payment in advance and then closed, moved or changed hands. We will not hold your money. You pay for the visit you just had, and you leave owing us nothing.

That is the whole policy: if you don't need it, we're not having you pay for it.

Why do laser hair removal prices vary so much?

Prices differ between places for three honest reasons: the size of the area, the laser, and the person holding it. A fourth reason is less honest: a low per-visit number that only applies if you prepay for a package. When you compare, compare the price of the visit you are having, paid on the day.

The area is the biggest factor. An upper lip and a full back are not the same amount of work, which is why we price small, medium and large rather than one flat fee.

The laser matters too. We use the GentleMax Pro™, which carries two lasers in one machine: a 755 nm Alexandrite for lighter skin and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG for darker skin, so every skin type is treated with the right wavelength. A test spot comes first if there is any doubt.

And the person matters. Patricia (Trish) Cregier opened North Shore Laser Center in 2005 and has been Candela-certified since the day it opened. Experience is what lets the settings be fitted to your skin, your hair and your recent sun.

Does the price change for darker skin, men or trans clients?

No. Prices are the same for every client. The Nd:YAG wavelength is there so darker skin can be treated safely, and it costs the same as any other visit. Our trans care clients pay exactly what everyone else pays, with no letter or referral needed to book.

What changes the number of visits, rather than the price, is the hair itself. Hormone therapy changes how hair grows and can change how many visits you need, and gray, white and very blond hair is the honest limit of any laser, because the laser needs pigment in the hair to find it. We will tell you that in the first conversation rather than sell you a series.

What about touch-ups after the series?

Once a series is finished, fine, light regrowth can appear years later, especially with hormonal change, and a single touch-up handles it. A touch-up is priced like any other visit, by the area, and paid on the day. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to keep paying while you don't need us.

How do I find out my exact price?

Ask. Text a description of the area to 781.367.1220, call, or book the free conversation: about an hour, sitting down, where we look at the hair and the skin, do a test spot if there is any doubt, and give you a real figure and a real number of visits. Consultations are always free, and nothing has to be decided there.
