What we do: Sun damage and uneven toneSalem, Massachusetts

Sun damage, redness and uneven tone.

Brown spots, freckling, the mottled patches on your face, chest, shoulders and the backs of your hands — every summer you don't regret, showing up later. A flush that never quite leaves. We treat all of it with light, on the GentleMax Pro™: two wavelengths, the industry's fastest and most powerful Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers, and cooling that fires ahead of every pulse.

Who it's for

Tell us what you see, not what you think it is called. Half of these overlap.

Brown spots and freckling

Sun spots, age spots, liver spots — the names change, the fix is the same. Spots darken first, then lift and flake away over a week or two.

Redness and rosacea

Cheeks that give you away, skin that reacts to wine, heat and stress. Calmed gradually over a few visits rather than covered up.

Broken capillaries and vascular spots

The thread veins around the nose, cherry angiomas on the trunk. Light closes the vessel; the body clears it.

Chest, shoulders and hands

The places that took the sun with you and give away the years first. Photofacials are not only for the face.

Uneven tone and dullness

Not one spot but a general mottling. This is the classic photofacial, and the reason people book.

Texture, pores and old acne scars

Different job, different tool — microneedling or Matrix™. We will point you there rather than promise light can do everything.

What a visit is like

Three parts. Nobody is rushed through any of them.

01

We look first

At the spots, the redness and the skin around them, under proper light. If a spot looks like anything other than sun, you will be sent to a dermatologist before we touch it.

02

The treatment

Fifteen to forty-five minutes depending on the area. Each pulse is a snap of warmth; Candela's DCD cooling sprays the skin a fraction of a second before the light, which is why people tolerate it so well.

03

Afterwards

Spots go darker for a few days — that is the pigment coming up — then flake away over a week or two. Redness responds over a series and nobody gets it in one visit; we won't pretend otherwise.

The tool

GentleMax Pro™

You will never have to ask for it by name.

The same dual-wavelength platform we use for hair removal, with different settings: the Alexandrite for pigment, the Nd:YAG for vessels and redness and for darker skin. Multiple spot sizes and pulse durations mean the treatment is tuned to your skin rather than a preset.

Rough, raised spots and moles are a different conversation — see vein and mole removal.

What it costs

One visit at a time.

No packages, nothing prepaid. You pay at the visit, for the visit, and you can stop whenever you like.

Full-face photofacial from $750. Brown spots, freckling and uneven tone across the whole face. Hands, chest and other areas are priced by size.

Redness on the face from $400 per visit, done as a series.

Skin tightening and wrinkles $250–$1,200 when the plan combines laser, RF microneedling and resurfacing for texture, pores, scarring, lines and slackness.

Questions people ask

Asked in the room, answered here.

Is a photofacial the same as IPL?

No — it is a different technology. The results are comparable, and honestly I think ours are better. Most people use the two words interchangeably, so if IPL is what you came in asking for, you are in the right place.

How many visits for sun spots?

Often one or two for spots on the face; hands and chest sometimes want a third. Redness is a series — it calms down gradually, and people are usually surprised by how much.

Is there downtime?

A few days of darker spots and mild pinkness, then a week or so of flaking. Makeup the next day is fine. Nobody has to hide.

Can I be tanned?

No. No active tan, no self-tanner and no sunburn on the area, before or for a couple of weeks after. Autumn through spring is the busy season for exactly this reason.

Does it work on the body?

Yes — hands, forearms, chest, shoulders and legs are all routine. Sun damage on the lower legs is one of the results people are happiest about.
