Microneedling Services in Salem, MA and The North Shore
The North Shore Laser Center is proud to offer microneedling services to clients in the Salem and North Shore of MA area. Microneedling is a skincare treatment that professionally repairs and restores skin using a microneedling pen. This pen is filled with tiny needles and is intended to naturally treat scars, dark spots, acne, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. This cosmetic procedure involves repeatedly pricking the skin in order to generate new collagen production and smooth, tighten and tone the skin. Microneedling is minimally invasive and is considered safe for most clients. No light, heat, or risk of skin discoloration is involved with microneedling, making it highly safe and effective for all skin tones! There may be mild irritation the day after your procedure including redness, swelling, or flaking skin. At the North Shore Laser Center, we use Exceed by Candela as our microneedling pen. Plasma pen and microneedling services may seem very similar, but they are intended to treat different skin conditions. They are both able to provide clients with similar benefits including naturally stimulating collagen and skin elasticity, but also can cater to specific client needs or areas. Plasma pen services are an advanced skin lifting and skin tightening service that is designed to target more challenging areas of the face. Plasma pen improves the skin's texture by treating wrinkles, sagging skin, and mole or skin tag removal. This pen is designed for more difficult areas that microneedling cannot target. Crows feet, drooping eyelids, sagging jawline, and more are all areas that can be treated with plasma pen procedures. Microneedling is a procedure that addresses fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scarring, large pores and more, leaving clients' skin feeling naturally beautiful. Microneedling can tone the skin, while plasma pen is able to address deeper issues and provide significant skin tightening properties.
What Is The Difference Between A Plasma Pen & Microneedling?
Frequently Asked Questions About Microneedling Services
1. How Long Do Microneedling Results Last?
After your procedure is complete, you can expect your results to last for four to six weeks. The length of your results is related to the length of your natural cell turnover cycle and how long the newly produced collagen lasts in your skin. This will vary depending on each client and their skin type, but after about a week, you will notice signs of skin improvement and even more drastic results after the next three to four weeks.
2. What Should I Avoid Before My Microneedling Appointment?
Before your microneedling appointment, you must refrain from using strong skincare products such as retinol, exfoliants, topical creams and antibiotics, or other hard products for at least two days before your appointment. Avoid direct sunlight exposure including tanning beds, as well as the use of fake tanning products. Your skin is best treated when it is fresh, clean, and in its purest form, so you can get the most out of your appointment.
3. What Should I Avoid After My Microneedling Appointment?
Once your microneedling procedure is over, your skin may be more sensitive and irritated. It is crucial that you avoid any tasks or activities that involve heating up your skin. This includes going in a hot tub, sauna, taking a hot shower, or performing strenuous workouts. For about two days after your appointment, you should avoid these things as much as possible and focus on being gentle with your skin. This includes gently cleansing and moisturizing your face; avoiding scrubbing, rubbing, exfoliating, peeling, or picking at the skin.
4. Who Should Not Get Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin care procedure that can cause bleeding. Those who have bleeding disorders, blood clotting, or take blood thinners should avoid microneedling and talk to their doctor before they schedule an appointment. Those who suffer from a weakened immune system, or have conditions that may impact your skin, such as eczema, psoriasis or diabetes, may also not be suitable for microneedling. Everyone’s skin is different, and may be sensitive to certain things, contact your doctor or our trusted skin technician for more information!
